Another busy day for Detroit City FC teams. Three matches on the schedule, including this double-header at Keyworth. Following this 4:00 PM match the Men’s First Team would host Chattanooga FC. The Women’s First Team was scheduled to travel to Indiana to face the Indiana Elite FC, however the hosts forfeited the match, giving the Women’s team a 3-0 win in the standings.
The U-23s come into the match with a perfect record thru seven matches, their latest a 2-1 victory two days ago at Keyworth against Lk. St. Clair FC. Inter Detroit fell to the U-23s a week ago in Pontiac by a 4-1 scoreline.

In the 19th minute, Zion Beaton cut in then sent the ball across the goal to Kellan Landefeld, who beat the Inter Detroit keeper, giving City a 1-nil lead.
City was dominant in the first half. It was only a matter of time before they would wear down the Inter Detroit defense.
In the 52nd minute, City was awarded a free kick. Up stepped Bosh Tanyi who beat the Inter Detroit keeper to double City’s lead at 2-nil.
In the 68th minute, Benedek Tanyi passed to Kellan Landefeld who notched his second goal of the match. Three-nil.
Five minutes later, Benedek Tanyi found his brother Bosh in the open. A quick pass and a tap in, and two City players have a brace. Four-nil.

The streak goes to eight wins in eight matches. Next up, the Michigan Stars visit Keyworth on Wednesday June 30th, ahead of the NISA Semi-Final match.
